How to make CBD tea

Posted by Crystal Palace on

CBD is a fantastic substance that interacts with many other stimulants to create an effect greater than the parts. Here is a simple guide to infuse your CBD with tea for some favourable outcomes.

First let’s start with just learning how to make a standard CBD infused tea.

You will need:

1 gram ground CBD tea.

1 litre boiling water.

Lidded saucepan.

A tea infuser or tea ball (for loose leaf teas).

1 teaspoon of coffee creamer or coconut oil.

The coffee creamer or coconut oil is important as CBD is not solely activated by hot water. It likes to bind to fats for better activation and ingestion into your system.

Method:

  1. Bring 1 litre of water to the boil in your saucepan then set to a simmer.
  2. Grind your CBD tea and place within the infuser.
  3. Place the CBD filled infuser into the saucepan and set the water to simmer.
  4. Allow to simmer for 20 minutes with the lid on.
  5. Remove from the heat and take out the infuser and empty the CBD tea into a storage container.
  6. Re-heat as desired and pour into a mug containing your creamer or coconut oil and mix thoroughly.

Your cooled tea will store for a good amount of time when refrigerated but we recommend consuming within the first five days for maximum potency.

Fun ideas

Tea has been used for thousands of years as a way of getting beneficial substances into our system. When you are making up your CBD tea try adding additional ingredients for added effects. For example, if you are using CBD for chronic pain and inflammation try adding tumeric and ginger to your infuser to boost the anti inflammatory properties. Looking for a morning boost? Add some green tea leaves to your mix. Time for bed? Add peppermint leaves or oil to your brew or maybe even some loose leaf camomile. Experiment and have fun!
